For my senior project, I created and taught a fishing camp for young kids. I served the community by teaching a younger generation a life skill.
This experience has changed me in what my dream job would be. My skill to communicate with the younger kids has increased, and I have grown to respect them because they are smarter than we give themn credit for. I also realized how much of an impact a cmall camp like mine can make. The parents kept telling me how excited their kids were to come the next day. I even had a parent coment on how his kids fished the weekend after my camp and how much they had improved. I learned that nothing comes without asking, and I am more confident in my presentation abilities.
If I were to give advice to next year's seniors, I would tell them to do what you want to do. Also, do it during the summer.

Megan Goad- Baby Shower for Abba
My passion is to be able to help and support others in my community, so for my senior project I hosted a baby shower for Abba Pregnancy Center. My senior project helps and serves the community in many ways; it raises awarness that there are men, women and teens that need help. Teen Pregnancy is on the rise and becoming a very popular topic; Abba supports and helps many young mothers in the community.
Through senior project, I jave become more outgoing and more capable of doing things on my own. Through senior project and my own experiences growing up, I have come to realize that teens don't always know all that goes into raising a child.
If I were to give advice to future seniors I would tell them to pick something they are actually passionate about.

William Roberts-Spirit Bench 2011
For my senior project I built a bench for Spectrum commemorating the school spirit of the class of 2011. Once I built the structure of the bench from wood, I had the senior class decorate tiles and created a mosaic from these pieces. Through this project, I served Spectrum High School. I created a memory that will continue to be a reminder for years to come.
Through senior project I have learned new woodworking skills that I am able to use to produce stronger better products. I have achieved a greater focus and a greater willingness to work hard. I discovered new concepts that allowed me to descend to a deeper level of woodworking. I learned how to make the most of what I have, and it has increased my mental and social stamina.
My advice for future seniors is to choose a product area they can enjoy and work at it with all thier heart. Don't be afraid to be passionate and forceful about thier project.

Noah Foy and Travis Bonstetter P.S.A
For our senior project, we created a public service announcement warning teens on the danger of texting while driving. It was beneficial to the community because it shows people just how problematic and vital one decision can be. For this project we had to learn how to film, edit, and write out shots and angles. What challenged us the most was different film angles. We were forced to shoot multiple times because of lighting and little mistakes. We also had to use the camera in extreme weather conditions both hot and cold which is dangerous for a camera.
This senior project really stretched our patience and will to finish, but now that the project is complete we can relax and be proud of the final product. It has also opened up my ideas and allows me to see how other people's opinions may work better than mine.
If giving advice to future seniors we would tell them to do their project over the summer. We also would stress the importance of time management.

Laura Ness- Splatter Painting for Autism
For my Senior Project, I served the community of families with Autistic children. I collected hundreds of frames and old paint; I then proceeded to splatter paint these frames in various colors and color combinations, and sell the product. The the $1,000 dollars I raised was given to the Autism Society of Minnesota.
Senior Project has opened my eyes to the reality of Autism and how broad of a subject "Autism" really is. I also learned patience and the importance of asking for help. I am proud that through Senior project I have been able to show people that young people can and are willing to help others even if it is at the expense of themselves. Senior Project has helped my love for Autistic children grow and renewed my passion for helping others. Though before I never saw myself as artistic, I have come to see myself as an artist with a cause.
When choosing a senior project, I would tell seniors to make sure they are 100%, completely, no doubt in their mind on fire for their subject. Otherwise, they won't be excited to help out their area of interest. Also, I would say that no matter how monotonous it may be write everything down in multiple areas with multiple copies.
